Kirkland Stands in Solidarity with the SPVM and the Montréal Community

Letter to Mr. Fady Dagher, Chief of Police

Dear Chief Dagher,

It was with profound sadness that the members of Kirkland City Council and I learned of the tragic events that occurred yesterday in the Côte-des-Neiges area, resulting in the loss of SPVM officer Mohamed Lamine Benredouane.

On behalf of the entire Kirkland community, we wish to extend our deepest condolences to you, as well as to the family, loved ones, and colleagues of the fallen officer. We share in your grief and stand with you during this difficult time.

Beyond the sorrow, such events powerfully remind us of the courage, sense of duty, and extraordinary commitment shown every day by the women and men who serve to keep our communities safe. Their dedication unites us and calls on all of us to stand together.

In this spirit, Kirkland stands alongside Montréal and all its police officers. Our thoughts are with the entire SPVM and all those affected by this tragedy.

Please accept, Chief Dagher, the expression of our deepest sympathy, solidarity, and respect.
